39 weeks - goodbye baby bump.

October 20, 2013

Shirt: Forever 21 // Chambray: Old Navy // Boots: Old Navy

This is officially my last post with the baby bump! I can't believe it's finally time! I go in first thing in the morning tomorrow. That's why I haven't made many posts this week, we've been trying to get everything as ready as possible.

I go in tomorrow for an ECV (where they try and flip the baby). If successful, I'll be induced, if unsuccessful, I'll be getting a c-section. I was pretty scared at first about what could happen, but I've had a lot of time to think about it and I feel confident that everything will be okay. I'm just so excited to meet our baby girl! These 9 months have really flown by.

I will be MIA for the next week, as I'll spending time with our Abigail. I'll try and make a post to update how things go tomorrow.

Please keep us in your thoughts!

Shirt: Forever 21 // Tank: Old Navy // Shoes: Forever Young

My husband and I have been trying to get everything as ready as possible for when the baby comes (expecting the 21st). Cleaning, organizing, planning, etc.. The nursery is almost done! I just have a few more empty wall spaces to fill, and we're also waiting for the crib. I'm going out with my mom to buy a few more things this week. I'm excited for how it's turning out! It's looking really cute.

After posting about the baby being breech, I received a lot of advice and such sweet comments. Thank you all so much. I've been trying a few things and hoping they work, but I now have an overall feeling of positivity. No matter what happens, everything will be okay. The end result will be us getting to meet our baby girl, and I can't think of anything better.

P.S. The winners of the Fall giveaway were picked! Check if you're a winner here.

maternity shoot.

October 13, 2013

I just got my maternity shoot photos and I couldn't be happier. They were taken by the amazing Rachel. She's the lovely lady who also took our gender reveal photoshoot. I would definitely recommend her to anyone and everyone! She's such a sweetheart.

I knew I wanted to do a maternity shoot, but at first it was hard to figure out what I wanted. And looking at Pinterest, there are a ton of hilariously awkward examples of what not to do! I found a few I liked and decided I wanted to have the pictures be warm, cozy, and indoors. These pictures were exactly what I wanted. Check out Rachel's site here.

Cardigan: DownEast Basics // Shirt: c/o Skip n' Whistle // Jeans: Old Navy Maternity // Boots: Forever Young

GUYS, I got my mustard cardigan! I about died when I found it. I really wanted the one from ModCloth, mentioned in my previous post, but it was a little too pricy for me. (I'm a cheapo, I know) Yesterday I was going to check out this store called Cozy down in Provo, where my grandma got her mustard cardigan years ago. When I got to the store, I noticed a DownEast Basics thrift store right next door. I decided to take a quick peek inside and browse for a mustard cardigan, which I just knew they wouldn't have. Then OUT OF NOWHERE THERE IT WAS!! My mustard cardigan. When I went to purchase it, the lady told me it was also 30% off. Could my day get any better than that? It was pretty great.

Pregnancy update: Today was my 37 week appointment (even though I'm 38 weeks on Sunday). And my husband and I definitely got thrown a curveball. The doctor told us that the baby is breech. When he told me, I had an instant feeling of panic. He explained that this would mean I will have to get a C-section. We're going to wait out a week and see if the baby has flipped by my appointment next Friday. The doctor said that she probably won't, since it's getting pretty late in the pregnancy. If by next Friday she hasn't flipped, the following Monday, the 21st, they'll have me come in. If I want to try and have the doctor flip the baby himself, and it works, then I'll be induced that day. If it doesn't work, or if I choose not to do that, the C-section will be done that day. I'm feeling pretty nervous. This changes all of our plans, a complete 180°. We're going to try different ways to see if we can get the baby to flip on her own. We've heard it's possible, so I guess we'll try what we can. I'm just trying to stay positive!

Shirt: New York & Company // Jeggings: New York & Company // Boots: Forever Young

I am now officially considered full term! So crazy! The baby will be here in just 3 short weeks. I've been trying to mentally prepare (if that's even possible) for birth. I'm scared I'm just going to psych myself out and have a terrible experience. I just have to keep telling myself "I can do this!".

Oh, and if you can't tell, I decided to dye my hair! I'm now all one color. And I love it! I'm really happy I did it.

Sweatshirt: Forever 21 // Striped Shirt: New York & Company // Jeggings: New York & Company // Boots: H&M

Sorry I look so squinty in these. Even though it was 50° outside today, it was still bright! I needed some sunglasses.

So I'm growing bored of my hair. I always do. I bought some hair dye last night and I'm just waiting to dye it. I know I want to, but I'm scared I'll regret it! I've got this weird ombré look going on right now and I kind of like it. I haven't dyed my hair since last November! But I think I just need some change for my hair.. You might see a new me in a few days!

how to dress your baby bump - on a budget.

September 27, 2013

Hey guys! I've been asked quite a few times if I wear maternity clothes, where I shop for maternity clothes, etc.. I haven't been answering any of the questions because I've been working on this post! (Sorry) I'm pretty excited to share with you guys how I've dressed my bump. I'm mainly going to talk about how to dress the end of your 2nd trimester and all the way through your 3rd trimester.

Let me first say, MAN, is it hard or what?! As much as I love a challenge, some days were really hard. Not only are you uncomfortable and emotional 24/7, you also get to try on every piece of clothing and realize nothing fits. I've had many mornings where I've torn my closet apart, then just sobbed about how terrible life is. (I'm a big baby)

When I purchased anything, I always asked myself if it was something I could wear post-baby. My husband is a full-time student, and I have been working less because of the pregnancy. So buying a whole new maternity wardrobe wasn't really in our budget. I also didn't want to purchase a lot of maternity clothes because I knew they would only be worn for a few months, then stashed away forever. Or at least until I'm pregnant again..

So I came up with 6 essentials.. Continue reading after the break!

Shirt: ASOS Maternity // Boots: H&M // Jacket: 5.7.9.

The weather has been amazing the past few days. When I got home from work yesterday, I had my first cup of hot chocolate of the season! Then today I actually pulled out my jacket. Yay for weather in the 50's. Too bad it's only lasting until Saturday! Then we're back to the 70's, boo.

Pregnancy update: I'm pretty sure the baby dropped. Because dang, she has been hurting me. I'll be standing or sitting there, then BAM ridiculous pain where my cervix is. And it also feels like she's just going to fall out any second. It's super fun. I'm getting really antsy. 4 weeks and 2 days!
